The Office of the Governor of the State of Utah, the Health System Reform Task Force of the Utah Legislature, and the Utah Intergovernmental Roundtable invite you to

*A discussion of Utah's health system reform:Issues, Implementation, and Impact*

October 2, 2008 from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Utah's health care system affects us all. Recognizing the need for comprehensive reform, the Utah Legislature passed HB 133 during the 2008 General Session and was signed by Governor Jon Huntsman. The bill included a provision for the creation of the Health System Reform Task Force. The Task Force was charged with reviewing and making recommendations for developing and implementing a strategic plan for
reform. Governor Huntsman has cited health system reform as a priority and demonstrated his support by assigning key executive branch personnel to the Task Force. The Governor also encouraged leaders in Utah business, industry, government, and the community to engage in productive dialogue and to be innovative in their considerations of what reform should entail.

For a number of months, the Task Force, led by co-chairs Rep. David Clark and Sen. Sheldon Killpack, have met with health care providers,
hospital representatives, business leaders, members of the community, and insurers in order to discuss a number of proposals and policy
initiatives in preparation for a final report to be presented to the Business and Labor Interim Committee in November.

This reform effort will take center stage on October 2, 2008 when the Utah Intergovernmental Roundtable convenes its annual Summit. The Summit
will include a panel discussion by nationally recognized health system reform experts and feature presentations by select members of the Task
Force, as well as Governor Huntsman. This is an excellent opportunity for all stakeholders to study the issues and consider a number of ideas and possibilities related to health system reform.
