Survey Results for the Working4Utah Pilot 6.16.09

The results are in from the statewide employee survey on the Working 4 Utah initiative. Thank you all for your participation; we had over 10,000 responses. The information is now posted on the Employee Gateway (see link at the end of this article) and is the same information that will be presented to a legislative interim committee on Wednesday, June 17th. This will also be the first public presentation of the results of the employee analysis of the Working4Utah (W4U) pilot.

As you review these results bear in mind that they address only part of the equation of continuing the W4U initiative. First and foremost we have to analyze the impact on our customers and other public entity partners. The employee data is just the first piece of the four part analysis to be completed. We also need to look at the energy savings, normalize the energy data and do some work to get more customer data. This will require additional time, so the W4U pilot period will be extended until we have sufficient data to do the analysis. We will continue to gather the information needed for all pieces of the initiative in order to make a good decision with complete information.

The analysis is broken down by three demographic groupings: employees on the 4-10's schedule during the pilot and those who are not; male vs. female; and age based on the generational groupings of gen y, gen x, baby boomers and matures.

We did get a clear directive from employees on the holiday leave question; over 54% voted for option B, the 9 hour holidays. This was double the vote for the second most preferred option. However, at this point in time and until an ultimate decision regarding the W4U initiative is made, holiday leave will continue to be administered as it has been during the pilot project.
